Transfer News: Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger 'likes' Chelsea playmaker Juan Mata

Mata's future has been the subject of speculation throughout the summer and he was linked with a move to Manchester United as part of Chelsea's bid to try to sign Wayne Rooney.
The Spain international's omission from the Chelsea team which drew 0-0 at Old Trafford on Monday night only served to intensify rumours he could be sold before the transfer window closes.
Chelsea's impending signing of Willian will increase competition for places, even though Jose Mourinho has insisted that Mata is not for sale.
There were reports that Juan Mata senior, the player's father and agent, was at the Emirates Stadium to watch Arsenal's UEFA Champions

Fed Govt to Break off Negotiations with ASUU

Minister of Education, Prof. Ruquayatu Rufa'I
With no end in sight to the debilitating strike embarked on by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), the federal government, which has been holding negotiations with the union for weeks, with the aim of reaching a compromise on its demands, may be forced to break off negotiations, THISDAY investigations have revealed.
Arising from a meeting yesterday in Abuja, members of the committees set up by the federal government to negotiate with ASUU expressed their frustration that they had not been able to make any meaningful progress despite all the offers made to the lecturers and resolved to halt further negotiations.
A source, who was privy to the meeting, informed THISDAY that the decision by the federal government’s negotiating team to call ASUU’s bluff was also informed by security reports that the union had been infiltrated by opposition parties which have egged on the lecturers to remain inflexible to the government’s offers.

Why are some people just inclined to hate on things? According to a new study published this week, we may just be born that way, having a “negative dispositional attitude” from birth.

Beyonce & Jay-Z cheer on the Brooklyn Nets!

Beyonce and Jay-Z are having “MARRIAGE TROUBLE,” according to MediaTakeOut, which claims the singer went on a “BIZARRE Facebook RANT” on Thursday, supposedly hinting at marital problems.
The unreliable webloid explains that Beyonce allegedly used “her private Facebook page” to post “some lyrics from Lauryn Hill’s song EX-FACTOR – which is about a woman breaking up with her man.”
Moreover, says MediaTakeOut, Beyonce supposedly changed the lyrics so that “she put HER NAME as the woman breaking things off.”
