Tokyo will host Olympic Games in 2020

Tokyo has been chosen by the International Olympic Committee to host the 2020 Summer Games.
In voting Saturday in Buenos Aires, the committee picked Tokyo over the two other contenders, Madrid and Istanbul.
The announcement came at 5:20 a.m. Tokyo time, but a large crowd watching on an outdoor video screen burst into cheers.
Tokyo previously hosted the Summer Games in 1964.
Japan's bid for 2020 billed the city as the safe choice -- despite radiation leaking from the Fukushima nuclear plant. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe personally made a presentation to the committee and promised an effective cleanup.

Man killed by remote control toy helicopter in Brooklyn, police say


A 19-year-old toy-helicopter enthusiast was killed Thursday in Brooklyn when his remote-control whirlybird plummeted from the sky and its rotor blades slashed his head and throat, cops said.
Roman Pirozek Jr. of Queens was apparently attempting an elaborate daredevil stunt when the trick went haywire and the copter hit him, police said.
The freak accident happened about 3:40 p.m. in a ballfield in Calvert Vaux Park on Shore Parkway and Bay 44th St. in Gravesend — a hot spot for model-helicopter hobbyists.

Boy orphaned at nine wins Shell varsity scholarship

At nine years, Master Lucky Ayolu, from Ekeni in Southern Ijaw Local Government of Bayelsa State, lost his father and mother.
Expectedly, life became cruel to him as he learnt to fend for himself. He told our correspondent that he took to fishing to pay for his fees in primary and secondary schools, as his grandmother, whom he stayed with, did not have enough.
However, as someone who is destined to succeed in life, Ayolu, now 17 years, has become a beneficiary of Shell Petroleum Development Company’s overseas scholarship.
The scholarship scheme, whose yearly budget is about N120m, and managed by Bassan West Cluster Development Board, saw Ayolu as one of the 14 beneficiaries.

A 21-year-old Polish woman is making headlines for her ambitious quest to have sex with 100,000 men in cities across the globe.

Ania Lisewska said she plans to spend at least 20 minutes with each partner on a journey she hopes will take her around the world,
"I want men from Poland, Europe and all around the world. I love sex, fun and men," Ms Lisewska said.
